SAKAKURA SEKI
Many smiths heading back and forth from AKASAKA to the small river side hamlet of SAKAKURA.
Smiths in GAMO-KORI, SAKAHOGI-MURA, SAKAKURA are MASAYOSHI, MASATOSHI (TOSHI: RI), MASATOSHI (TOSHI: GO) and MASAYOSHI (ZEN). All SAKAKURA KAJI. Note that different characters have been applied and used inter-changeably for "SAKA" and "KURA". Smiths of SAKAKURA Town were a family and some are seen to have worked in SHIMA and in KOYAMA.

MASAYOSHI(3) TEN-MON: SAKAKURA JU. Respected and emulated, to some degree, the works of the MURAMASA School. Work from TEN-MON 1532 to EI-ROKU 1558 time period. MASATOSHI(2) TEN-MON 1532 (f: RI MASATOSHI): TOSHI form: "GO". SAKAKURA JU This is the same man as MASATOSHI (TOSHI form: RI)- second generation. Generally in the style of RI MASATOSHI, ITAME running with MASAME and of SHIRAKI. NIOI-DEKI SUGUHA, GUNOME-MIDARE BA and GUNOME with TOGARI. Also, rounded KANEFUSA GUNOME style with FUSHI knots. Small TOBI-YAKI are likely and with SUNAGASHI. Because of the general travels of smiths and of his resemblance to SENGO work, and because his very cursive MEI seems similar those of SENGO, one theory has him the son of ISE MASAZANE and that he was a MURAMASA School man.
