SENJUIN School       * Two Trees Grow at SENJUIN *

YUKINOBU and SHIGEHIRO are known as the founders of SENJUIN. The
number of working smiths increased forward of NIN-AN 1166. An old
sword may bear the name of an old master. All merit questions.
Genuine signatures are seen from the original temple association
and should tend to a firmly-put statement, not weak or delicate.
The secret to appraisal is in the sword. As always, work speaks
louder than inscription.

Technical: SUGATA - The raised SHINOGI gives a certain emphasis
to the JI and HA. YAMATO SUGATA (early
through late) of TORIIZORI in the style of
the time: both KAMAKURA and NAMBOKUCHO.
HADA - ITAME or ITAME-MASA mix, finely done.
Can be strong and with O-HADA. JI-NIE.
HAMON - SUGU, SUGU HOTSURE with KO-ASHI.
Some KINSUJI. Strong or coarse NIE.
BOSHI - KO-MARU with slight or no turnback.
________   NAKAGO - Much like YAMASHIRO. Few signed blades.
