This piece is the only Yamato Hosho Sadatsugu
work available anywhere in the world and is therefore completely unique
Works of the Hosho are the Rarest of the Five Great Koto Schools
    Hosho Sadatsugu is the Greatest Master of the Hosho. Of his, there are three extant works. Two are Juyo Bunkazai Treasure Swords, long famed in the Nihonto Taikan, page 9, Koto1 and page 191. Mr Tanobei has made special note of this fact in his Saya-gaki (translation below).
This piece has not been presented to the Ministry of Education and is therefore the only available Hosho Sadatsugu. Rarity is absolute, no other works exist.
